History of PCC
1981

April 12th - PCC held her first service at the Penang Chinese Girls' School Union Hall with a total of 15 persons. A unique feature of PCC, which remains till today, is the cosmopolitan nature of the congregation and leadership. Besides the locals, those who contributed were the RAAF personnel or expatriates.

1982
February 1st - PCC was officially recognised by the Assemblies of God, Malaysia as a Home Missions Church.
May - The Bogdans return to USA. Pastor Ron Ooi coordinates the services at the Rasa Sayang Hotel and Dewan Sri Pinang. Rasa Sayang services still is a part of PCC's outreach ministry.
1986
September 21st - PCC receives Sovereign Status.
1987
January - Hokkien Worship Service started on Sundays . The Youth Ministry (ISCA) for secondary school students was also started
December - Pastor Ron Ooi left PCC to take up the post as President of Bible College of Malaysia.
1988

April - Rev. Isaac Chan and family arrived to be the new pastor of PCC
November - Church services were held temporarily at Konsenih in Leith Street as the church prepared to organise more permanent facilities of her own.

1989
Jessilyn Lau returned from studies in Bible College of Malaysia to serve in PCC.
August - PCC took a big step of faith to purchase the 6th floor of Canton Square. Members and regulars made a sacrificial pledge of $250,000 for the downpayment. We became the channels of God's miraculous provision.
1990
February - Felix Chuah joined PCC as the Youth Pastor.
April - PCC held its first service at Canton Square on Easter Day, ending the sojourn of worshipping in rented buildings.
June 10th - The facility were dedicated to the Lord followed by a celebration dinner on the rooftop, attended by about 400 members and guests.
1991
July 28th - PCC celebrated her 10th anniversary at the Shangri-La Hotel. The guests of honour were The Right Honorable The Chief Minister of Penang, Dr. Koh Tsu Koon and his wife. More than 860 persons attended the celebration.
October - PCC launched her English double Worship services on Sunday to cater for the increase in membership
1992
September - Chang Kee Meyu was appointed to pastor the Chinese section.
December - PCC held its Christmas celebration with the presentation of "The Perfect Gift" at the Dewan Sri Pinang.
1993
The birth of PCC's first daughter church, Ipoh Christian Centre.
July - PCC participated in the Penang Grand Parade. Our tambourine dance team, being the only Christian item in the Parade, was well received.
November - The entire 8th floor of Canton Square was rented to house the Children's Ministry.
1994
PCC's first Chinese musical drama, "The Midway Encounter" was produced and presented in our auditorium.
October - the auditorium on the 6th Floor was extended and a new and larger mothers' room was partitioned.
1995
February and March - 15-night revival meeting, in which many people were touched by God.
PCC celebrated her 14th Anniversary with a Charity Run and Charity Concert that raised RM 60,000 for 4 charities in Penang.
1996
June - PCC's Church Planting Project sees the birth of Sungei Petani Christian Centre, S.P.C.C.
The 15th Anniversary Celebration included a blood donation drive, gotong royong, beach clean up and a visit to the old folks' home.
September - Pastor Felix Chuah sets up Harvest Christian Centre (HCC), PCC's third outreach.
July - PCC begins its transition to a cell church
1997
The Blood Donation Campaign becomes an annual event to start the year.
April - a church planting missions team was sent to India
July - PCC participates in the 30-hour famine program by World Vision
December - Another mission team sent to Orissa, India for children's ministry work. The Christmas outreach program "Hope Assured", jointly organized with HCC and the Eagles Communication from Singapore.
1998
January - PCC launched the Internet Homepage followed with a Blood Donation Campaign.
"The Encounter" Easter outreach program received an overwhelming response.
May and July - The Zonal Camp was held for the North/Central and South Zones.
A Charity Fair in conjunction with PCC's 17th Anniversary celebration, helped raised RM40,000 for four organisations.
PCC transitions into a cell-based church, the Christmas Cell Harvesting event was held by the respective cell groups for better interaction with the guests and more effective follow-up.
1999
PCC's new homepage was launched. The College Link was established to ensure college students stay connected to the church.
PCC organizes the inaugural Love Penang Charity Walk, a combined churches effort to raise funds.
PCC's first children's Christmas Musical "Joy to You and Me" has held in Dewan Sri Pinang.
2000
Angela Song graduates from the Baptist Seminary and joins the PCC staff.
PCC starts her third English worship service on Saturday to accomodate its increasing congregation.
April - Pastor Peter Wong joins PCC as Youth Zone Pastor.
July 16th - PCC members approve the purchase of #1, Jalan Khaw Sim Bee to put up a purpose-built building.
August - The 2nd Sacrificial Pledge was launched with PCC's members contributing RM2M.
November 26th - The Chinese Service moved to Chulia St. to accomodate growing numbers
2001
Purchase of #1, Jalan Khaw Sim Bee was completed. The State Municipal Council approves the construction of a community centre and religious hall.
June - PCC relaunches its Wednesday Night Corporate Prayer as PCC strives to be a house of prayer.
2002
January - the Hokkien Zone was launched. Pastor Angela was appointed Zone Pastor.
Pastor Chang serves as pastor for the Mandarin Zone
